Hifiberry amp2 continuous loop thru boot cycle

Is the new Hifiberry amp2 supported on the Pi3?. mine just loops thru the boot cycle continuously

You might need to use a new version of the setsound script:

wget -O /opt/musicbox/setsound.sh https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pimusicbox/pimusicbox/develop/filechanges/opt/musicbox/setsound.sh

thanks for the quick reply. apologies up front for the next question…how do I stop the boot script to get to a command line to enter the wget command?

unfortunately that’s a bit tricky! The easiest way is to just rewrite the sd card and then with the fresh image do not enter a soundcard until you’ve had a chance to login and run that wget command.

Hey thanks for the help. I got it up and running. Here’s a tip for the next person - for the hifiberry amp2, set the output to hifiberry dac plus. The clue for that is that early on in the boot script that’s what it thinks it sees. Or at least this is what worked for me. I’ll post this on twitter to catch the wider audience.

When I had a look at their website it wasn’t immediately obvious what overlay you are supposed to set. It mentioned using an old one (maybe it was the one you said), do you know if that is the preferred setup?

Hi

I just wanted to let you know that I’m running v0.7.0RC5 on a RPI 3 with Hifiberry amp2 , all i did was following the instructions from the Hifiberry Teams forum and it works. :grinning:

Hifiberry Tem responded the following to same question (a Kodi user reported problem in their forum). “For the Amp2 you need to use the hifiberry-dacplus overlay.
