My Mopidy server is running on a Raspberry Pi and I was wondering of the best way to intercept and alter the audio stream in order to display the peak levels with a LED strip (VU-Meter). Any pointers to this topic are appreciated.
I came accross Ncmpcpp running along Mopidy [1] which includes a visualizer running in the CLI. Would this be a possibility to capture the data there to drive the LEDs?
Another hint I found is to pipe the data into a FiFo/file and do (I assume) additional processing.
