I noticed that the “less” command is not working, simply not returning anything. The program is there:
root@MusicBox:/# which less
/usr/bin/less
but is doesn’t give any output:
root@MusicBox:~# less updatepip.py
root@MusicBox:~#

I have found the reason: the command was simply missing!
/bin/less
was a 0 bytes file. I have copied the file from another raspian and now less
is back again!
Strange. I haven’t tinkered too much with my PiMusicBox and it’s got the correct and complete version of /bin/less . Considering this and the odd search performance you reported, perhaps you’ve got a bad SD card?
Don’t know. The card is new and it is perfectly working…
The search is now working by limiting the search to specific service.
