Hello,
Is it possible to use a hdmi to aux/vga cabel and put the aux to my stereo without putting the vga on an screen? I dont become any signal. Think its the handshake is there any walkaround?
Big greetings from the black forrest
Mike
Audio from HDMI is digital. You cannot extract analog audio from it by just using a cable of some sorts. You would need a separate device that converts the audio from digital to analog.
Devices like these do that: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/hdmi-audio-extractor
But what might even be a better idea, is to put one of these on your Pi: https://www.hifiberry.com
Hey,
i dont using only a cable. There is a short circuit in it:
But it dont work Thinking handshake.
But what you say: I think the best idea is to buy a hifiberryâŚ
Greetings
I use one of these:
Analogue audio isnât anything to shout out home about, it is on par with the HiFiBerry DAC however.
I have several of these as my processor doesnât have HDMI in. They have been rock solid.
or maybe something like this https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=75225 but having a ful dac doesnât hurt. i have an iqaudio and the sound is better than anything i have ever had before. but then again i am not exactly a hifist. anyway, i am pretty sure that you will get the best setup with a hat dac, not a usb one or any other kind of hack out of the hdmi. sorry about the lowercase, using a macbook of someones where the shift doesnât workâŚ
