Wit the latest alpha, playback is generally working fine, but randomly it doesn’t advance the playlist and a manual “next” has to be issued (in most cases it accepts that). Sometimes this happens a couple of seconds before the end of the song, it just stops playing. Is this something known and possibly tied to the upstream packages, or is it just me?
There’s a vague note at the bottom of Release v5.0.0a3 · mopidy/mopidy-spotify · GitHub regarding this:
NOTE There are currently known connection issues with gst-plugin-spotify, a fix for which has been identified upstream.
This sounds like your problem (it has to reconnect on every track change, sometimes this fails). The issues have since been resolved and I need to cut a new release, I’ll try this weekend (or you can build latest gst-plugin-spotify from source yourself).

Thanks, yeah I actually saw that note and thought that might apply to my problem. Thanks for the heads-up. Now to try and wrestle Debian for a workable version of Cargo…
