# Spotify Album Art color as ambilight

I have seen on ifttt there is a recipie for changing the color of Philips hue depending on the color of the album art playing on spotify. I thought if anyone is aware of of a project where we can use musicbox + a led light [not Philips Hue] attached to RPi for doing this.

That’s a really nice idea. I saw somewhere a DIY ambilight project for the raspberry pi where they had used an LED strip controlled using hyperion. Hyperion has a json interface which allows you to set an arbitrary image so it wouldn’t take much to periodically grab the currently playing song from Mopidy, fetch the cover art (from Spotify/last.fm etc) and send it on to hyperion. Or maybe even create a Mopidy extension to do it. Please let us know if you progress with the idea.

Where? I see a recipe that changes it based on latest saved not currently playing.
